Scientist – Overview

Marie Curie was born November 7, 1867 in Warsaw, Poland and died July 4, 1934 in Sancellemoz. She was the scientist that discovered Radium and Polonium she also successfully won a nobel prize in physics and chemistry. Her full name is Marie Sklodowska Curie and had two children, Irène Joliot-Curie and Ève Curie that sadly passed away. Irène Joliot-Curie died 1956 and Ève Curie died 2007. Marie Curie has been awarded with two nobel prizes and many other award. She accomplished a lot as a scientist. She also did research about radioactivity and worked with x-rays.

She also discovered polonium, a chemical element with the symbol Po on the Periodic Table of Elements. It’s a rare and very radioactive metal. Its atomic number is 84.

Marie Curie discovered radium, a chemical element with the symbol Ra on the Periodic Table of Elements and is one of the most dangerous Alkaline Earth. Its atomic number is 88.
